American Red Cross – Standard First Aid and Adult and Child CPR
The basic first aid course fulfills Girl Scouts of Milwaukee Area’s requirement that at least one adult working with girls and their activities has certified knowledge of First Aid and CPR. Participants who complete the skills and written exam will receive the American Red Cross First Aid certification (valid three years) and Adult and Child CPR certification (valid one year). Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Recognize and care for life-threatening emergencies in adults and children, such as respiratory, choking and cardiac problems. Also included: caring for severe cuts, burns, strains or sprains; sudden illnesses such as poisonings, bites and stings; heat-or-cold related emergencies.
Who: Registered adults working with Girl Scouts.
Where: Girl Scout office
Cost: $35.00 per person (Includes cost of face shield and
wallet size First Aid information card.)
Registration: Required 10 days in advance
of course date. A minimum of five registrants is required
to hold a course.

CPR
Recertification – See
FA/CPR dates
This course is for previously trained CPR participants seeking
to renew their adult certification prior to the one-year
expiration date. Please bring your certification card. Participants
who complete the skills and written exam will receive the
American Red Cross Adult CPR certification (valid one year).
Recipients will not receive a First Aid Fast or Microshield
in
this class. However, these items may be purchased separately.
Cost: $25.00 per person
When: CPR recertification will be trained
within the FA/CPR courses.

Train the Trainer
Be a trainer for Girl Scouts of Milwaukee Area. In this course,
you’ll learn the skills needed to plan, design, deliver
and
evaluate leadership courses. You will join a dynamic team that
provides leadership training to other leaders. If you are
interested in developing your public speaking and presentation
skills and sharing your enthusiasm for Girl Scouting with
other adults, then the position of Trainer is for you!
