Cookie Program For
complete Cookie information, |
|---|
The annual cookie sale is the premier program opportunity for each girl to increase her self-confidence, leadership and people skills, while funding her troop’s adventures. This unique entrepreneurship opportunity also allows girls to make business decisions, set their own goals, and earn money to support their troops.
The four Girl Scout councils realigning to form Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast have designed a new Girl Scout Cookie Program to benefit all of our members and volunteers.
Be sure to attend Cookie Kick Off training (December 1-4) at the Milwaukee office to learn all the details of the new program. Training times are listed below.
Start preparing for the cookie sale early!
1. Recruit and register a troop cookie manager.
Troop cookie managers handle all of the paperwork, ordering,
money collecting and banking involved with the sale. This
is a perfect position for the parents that can’t commit
to coming to troop meetings, but are willing to help. Be
sure to register the troop cookie manager early to ensure
they receive all pertinent mailings.
2.
Attend Cookie Kick-Off Training December
1-4, 2007, or plan a cookie rally for your school!
All
cookie managers and/or leaders must attend the kick-off
event. Pick up your troop’s cookie selling materials
and learn what is new and exciting for this year’s
sale, including the new Cinnaswirl cookie.
3.
Plan a troop/parent meeting before the sale starts to prepare
everyone!
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a great experience for girls
to learn new things. Train the parents and girls on safety
issues, selling techniques and filling out forms. Set goals
with the girls and have fun! Guidelines for this meeting will
be given at the Kick-Off Training event.
Plan
a school-wide or area wide cookie rally!
A cookie rally is an event to help girls can gear up for the
sale while the adults, especially cookie managers, learn their
part and get motivated!
Troops
attending a cookie rally do not need to send someone to Cookie
Kick-off, and do not need to plan a troop cookie meeting
of their own. Volunteers interested in organizing a rally
must attend the rally training in October 2007. Outlines
will be provided for girl activities, parent activities and
a training guide for the cookie managers. Rally organizers
will be responsible for securing a site, promoting the event
to their own school or area, recruiting volunteers to run
the event, and budgeting for the event (all costs will be
given at the training
so that troops can be charged accordingly).
This is a great opportunity for teen girls earning their
silver award to get leadership hours!
Bonus: cookie costumes are available for check out. Have the girls wear the costumes while they are selling at the cookie shop. Contact productsales@gswise.org or calling 414-476-1050 ext. 1266 to check out one or more costumes.
