-Interview
with Girl Scout Maya Santos
You might know Maya and her
twin brother, Miguel, from their hit show on PBS, "Maya & Miguel." But
did you know Maya is teaming up with the Girl Scouts
to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month? Check out what
Maya has to say about being Hispanic, having a twin brother,
and being a brand-new Girl Scout!
Q: What level
of Girl Scouts are you?
Maya:
I'm 10, going on 11! So I'm a Girl Scout Junior, which is for
girls in 4th and 5th grades.
Q:
Why did you become a Girl Scout?
Maya:
It's fun! I'm making lots of new friends and getting all
sorts of new badges. Best of all, I get to help make the
world a better place. Mejorar el mundo! –. It feels
great to help other people, and I love having new adventures.

-New
Troop Numbers for all Troops
In preparation for the Girl Scout realignment, all troops in
Girl Scouts of Milwaukee Area, Inc. have been assigned troops
numbers in either the 1000 or the 3000 series. Here
is the link to the list of numbers. Please start using your
new troop numbers August 18, 2007 for Fall Registration and for
workshop registration. It would be best if troops would wait
to change their checking accounts until the realignment with
the other Southeastern Wisconsin councils is complete. Troops
can wait until their bridging year to change the number on their
uniforms, but must use the new numbers on forms and paperwork. Click
here for a copy of the letter mailed to all 01 and 02 Troop Leaders.
