Religious Recognitions

The motivating force in Girl Scouting is a spiritual one. That is why Girl Scouts are encouraged to grow in the understanding of and appreciation for their own religious community. Religious recognition programs are always developed and administered by the religious groups themselves. If a religious community wishes to provide a pin, the recipient may wear it on her uniform, level with her membership pin. Because the Girl Scout organization recognizes that it has no authority to decide whether or not a girl has reached a certain stage of spiritual development, it does not grant permission to use the Girl Scout insignia and name on a religious recognition provided by any religious group or organization. The following is a listing of resources for religious awards available to Girl Scouts.
