ADOPT - A - RIVER
Become a Keeper of the Creek and help keep our local
waterways beautiful! Adopt a section of the creek on a one-time
or ongoing basis. Any troop/group that takes on this public service
project will be recognized with a sign dedicating that section
of the creek to the troop. Clean-up and maintenance materials
provided by Milwaukee Metropolitan
Sewerage District.

BOOKS FOR
KIDS
Help place books in the hands of children who need them. Collect gently used
children’s books and bring them to the Next Door Foundation for redistribution
to homeless shelters, meal programs, and other organizations that serve children.

CELEBRATE
EARTH DAY
Join in this fun filled, day-long community event. Participate in service projects

CRITTER COLLECTABLES
The mission of the Wisconsin Humane Society is to build a community where people
value animals and treat them with respect and kindness. One of the ways that
people can help is to provide essential items that our furry friends need. The

HUNGER TASK
FORCE OF MILWAUKEE
Volunteers are needed to help at the
Hunger Task Force warehouse with various duties. Opportunities
vary by season and may include food sorting or assisting with

HOUSE
Kathy’s House is “home away from home” for patients seeking
medical care at Milwaukee area hospitals and their immediate caregiver. Supplies
that would be welcome are cleaning supplies, paper products, and non-perishable
food items. Contact the center for details.

KEEP GREATER
MILWAUKEE BEAUTIFUL
Every litter bit hurts! Help keep Milwaukee clean by participating in a litter
clean-up. KGMB will provide groups with supplies. An educational presentation
on litter prevention is also available if requested. There is a $20 fee for
the educational presentation.

LIONESS CLUB
RECYCLE FOR SIGHT
Collect used eyeglasses in your community. Over one million pair of glasses
are sorted, cleaned and boxed for shipment at the Eyeglass Recycling Center
in Rosholt, WI. The glasses collected are distributed to people in developing
countries. Glasses may be
boxed and sent directly to the Wisconsin Eyeglass
Recycling Center, Attn: Sharon Cherek, 3834 County

ART MUSEUM
Fill that creative void by volunteering at the Milwaukee Art
Museum. Contribute to Art Museum family events by helping to

THE PARK
PEOPLE
Learn how to identify wildflowers and the invasive plants that threaten to eliminate
native wildflowers. Girls will have the opportunity to provide hands-on invasive
plant removal. The Park People provide equipment and work gloves.

PREVENT BLINDNESS
WISCONSIN
Make oculars (fish-shaped vision-blockers) for preschool children; to be distributed
during the vision testing program of Prevent Blindness Wisconsin.

Timber Wolf Preservation Society
Become educated on the Eastern Timber Wolf. This is a great opportunity
to learn about wildlife and the preservation
and protection of wild animals. You can also assist in the maintenance
of the establishment by cleaning up around the preserve or becoming
a tour guide and share your knowledge with others.
