Girl Scouts of Milwaukee Area Volunteer Opportunities
-Career Fair – late winter, 2008, at Milwaukee School of Engineering from10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Come and share information about your career with girls.
-Leader/Co-Leader – Provide Girl Scout program to girls in a troop setting throughout the school year on an every other week basis. Training is provided.
-Troop Committee Member – Support leaders of a troop through helping as the treasurer, product sales manager, chaperone, driver, newsletter writer, telephone volunteer, first aid person, or troop camp coordinator.
-Interest Group Program Facilitator – Present a Girl Scout program during the school day (often at lunchtime) once a week for 6 weeks to give girls an introduction to Girl Scouts. Meeting plans with supplies are included.
-Mentors for teen girls in leadership positions and advisors for small groups of teen girls working in subcommittees or groups.
-Camp Volunteers for day camp, resident camp and year round camp programs.
-Resource Center – Assist in the Resource Center by helping customers, doing inventory, or stocking/pricing merchandise. Flexible hours, daytime (including Saturday mornings) or early evening. In the fall, provide assistance in the Resource Center by accepting troop membership registration forms, and verifying money. Training is provided.
-School Recruiter – Attend school functions (open house, PTO meetings, Girl Scout Night) to recruit troop leaders at assigned schools in the fall.
-Nut Sale and Cookie Sale Volunteer – Enjoy the fast pace action of the Girl Scout Nut or Cookie Sale. Assist invarious activities from general office work to distributing cookies.
